Is there a recommended firmware for the Mini (v5) that had improved options for FB2 (maybe MetaTag reading)

I tried the LBook V5 file but found that the menus in the FB2 files were all in Russian, which made it a little hard to use :)

I am looking at converting all my books to FB2 because of the ease of modification to the files if there are any corruption in the files.

I also like the FB2 interface that is with the default Firmware (the book position in the statusbar is nice)

Well I've just downloaded and installed Tirwall's triple boot 2.7 firmware and it's a revelation.

I kept with the Lbook boot option and prefer the larger font and clearer layout of the bookshelf and options screens. The real revelation though is the speed of page turns. It's so much faster than the native firmware.

Then of course there is the fact that I can us both my DRM'ed ePub and Mobi files.

That's me sorted.

Muchas gracias!

Does Tirwall's firmware use the FB2 Metadata properly?

That is really my biggest interest as far as firmware goes :)

Stability is also good, but I have found that if I remove the images from the FB2 files then they are fully stable.

Could someone please provide a directed link for the latest Tirwal V3 firmware. There seem to be so many files on the website I can't work out which is the correct one. Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks AVH. I'm looking forward to trying this.

I have been using another one, Lbook is it called? I have preferred this to the standard Bebook firmware as it doesn't seem to freeze as often.

BTW I have this forum set to send an email when there is a reply to my posts but it doesn't seem to be working.

I was wondering, is there any place to compare the different firmwares for the Bebook One? Of the firmwares mentioned here, one has a page in Spanish, one in Russian...I'd like to get a good idea what I'm in for before I start trying out firmwares ;)

Try over on the Mobileread forums. Specifically the Hanlin forum. http://www.mobileread.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=101

Hello All,

I have tried out Tirwal's firmware for the past week or so and it is impressive.

However a couple of gripes and a general inquiry:
1. The text reader has too large a font size so that poetry lines overflow in an ugly manner and, although there is a font size change menu, nothing happens.
2. Again on the text reader there is a menu item "go to manual" but there is no manual!

The general question about ALL firmware systems is: "Where ARE the user manuals". I know from looking at this forum that, either manuals exist or I am very dumb, but I can't face the latter so can someone answer the former?

Regards,

Dave
